….they wouldn’t have been as good as this one!

The day dawned bright and warm, after the excesses of the night before I unpacked my new sun lounger and had breakfast (part 1) out on the decking!

Our weekend guests got stuck in to help with weeding, digging & sowing grass seed and I planted the wells at the front of the house with the wonderful smelling Vanilla Lady (Nemesia) and Silver Falls (Dichondra). We also found a garden vac in the shed (left by the previous owner) and S had much fun hoovering up the old beech leaves still floating around. S also managed to tape up and replant our broken upside down tomato grower – this time with less soil to overbalance it all!

A lovely walk up to the North Esk Reservoir was followed by a wonderful bbq with friends and guests. We had salad picked from our neighbour’s garden (spinach & mustard leaves), next year we’ll definitely be planting those ourselves!

And we sat around the chimenea until late, the perfect end to a great weekend, mainly spent in the garden.
I also discovered that the slug repellant we’d bought wasn’t pet friendly so started my quest to catch slugs to try this unusual natural method
