I planted my Nicotiana seedlings (can’t wait for them to flower, apparently they smell lovely, thank you Bees – you may soon get to see/smell your Christmas present) and then cleared out the odd tap things at the front of the cottage ready to re-plant with some nice trailers/ivy.
I did however make a nice list of gardening jobs for the weekend (take note C & S who are coming visiting – plenty to do :o)
I saw a fascinating article on mashable about veggies you can re-grow from scraps and it said that
“Ginger regrows itself if you plant it in soil. Make sure you pick rhizomes with green buds on them, as they have the highest chance to grow. You can also dig up the root, taking off pieces as need be, and then replant it afterwards.”
At dusk I was just wandering about the garden to check on the beds I planted over the weekend when I noticed that our wonderful new upside down tomato plant grower was on the decking, the bag split open, along with the beam it had been hanging from – goodness only knows how that could’ve happened as the beam was well wedged into the framework…
Another lovely & busy day in the garden despite discovering 2 more wasps nests in the garden shed! It was warm, if a little cloudy – perfect gardening weather!
Whilst sat having breakfast in the garden we noticed a couple of wasps landing and crawling between the decking – uh oh – that can only mean one thing…!
