So the 30 odd slugs collected last night (there were literally hundreds) are now happily infecting each other. Unfortunately, I read to the end of the method and discovered it actually takes 2 weeks for the potion to be ready but once it is, it gives up to 6 weeks slug protection so I might need to check out the ‘beer method’ in the meantime, lest the rhubarb & parsley don’t make it!
I saw a fascinating article on mashable about veggies you can re-grow from scraps and it said that
“Ginger regrows itself if you plant it in soil. Make sure you pick rhizomes with green buds on them, as they have the highest chance to grow. You can also dig up the root, taking off pieces as need be, and then replant it afterwards.”
Lots of feathers but no dead bird, that was until Cosmo rooted out a bloody great pigeon that must’ve hidden itself in the hedge – he promptly snaffled it and ran off behind the summer house with it.
